Zoho at 25 - My Journey -- Part 1

I didn't realize till I saw this video that Zoho has turned 25! The video made me turn the clock back and see how the journey began for me with Zoho. It was actually my elder brother, who first gave the interview in 1997, a year earlier to me, to this nondescript software company by the name Vembu Systems Pvt. Ltd in a residential area near my house. He cleared the tests but wasn't keen to join because the interviewer (I think it must be Sridhar Vembu🤔) told him very clearly that "we can't promise you any onsite opportunities".  Having known me, my brother asked me to try my luck with this company even before I completed my graduation. Of Indian Women and her abuse

Mahatma Gandhi once famously quipped... "India will attain her real independence only when her girl can walk alone in midnight without any fear" . I know, I didn't translate the exact message, but the crux is given here. I think, this is true with any independent nation. A nation that offers equal rights to all people, not only in words but in action too. A nation that treats ever citizen equally, be it the prime minister of the country or your low-lying beggar down the street, is the real independent country. But, I have always thought why did Gandhi chose to say 'girl' rather than 'anyone'. I believe, he thought, the women to be the weaker among the two sexes and so being more gullible to torture and offence. How true this statement is! A Billion dreams shattered!!

As like many in India, I'm also a great follower of Cricket. It doesn't get bigger than a World cup. With so much of hype surrounding the MIB (not the SNMP's Management Information Base :), this stands for the Men In Blue, a term coined for Team India based on their jersey color), I was waiting for the matches. Being an ardent fan of Sachin Tendulkar, I expected fireworks from this Little Master blaster, especially with 'minnows' like Bangladesh and Bermuda around. Alas, what a disappointment! Not in my wildest dream that I imagined our favorite MIB will crash out of the first round.. The defeat against Bangladesh set the tone for the team. They never looked like willing to win the match at all. If Dravid and Co thought of just being at the park will ensure a win against the 'minnows' (read Bangladesh!), they are mightly mistaken. For the Bangladesh team had already 'upset' the strong Newzealand in the warm-up games.. and they did have a shrewd coach...
